What is a charity?
A charity is a social initiative started by volunteers who feel the need to help the helpless or the under privileged people of the world. There is no single particular motive for starting or being a part of a charity. There are various issues which engulf the world and likewise, there are charities dealing with those issues. For instance, there are charities for children, other charities to support old people, and various other charities which support other social issues!
What does a charity do?
Depending on the cause a charity is set up for, the charity takes all possible steps in their capability to help solve that issue. For instance, if a charity is started to promote clean water in a locality, the charity will take all possible steps in their capability to ensure a clean and a continuous water supply in their locality!
Likewise, whatever causes the charity supports, the management tries whatever it can to solve or eradicate that issue!
Should you join a charity?
If you have the motivation and the willingness for it, the answer is a big ‘Yes’. Helping with a social cause is never looked down upon. You must do whatever you can to assist the needy people.
In essence, charity does begin from home! If you have it in yourself to help the poor and the unfortunate ones from you, do not waste more time and consider supporting a charity immediately! Supporting or joining a charity can be the best way to use your efforts and time, if you have them to spare. In fact, if you cannot join a charity, you can at least start by making donations and spreading awareness about the charity to the people around you!
If you see a beggar asking you for money, you might as well pay a few coins to add convince your conscience. Do you know what that person is doing with your money? Likewise, why consider so much before making a donation to a charity? At least, you can be rest assured that the money is being used by a renowned charity which will take the initiative to make a difference to the people who are supported by the charity! Therefore, next time when some one asks you this question, ‘Are you being paid to support the charity?’ just answer them saying that the personal satisfaction is greater than any payment!
